Frequently Asked Questions
How long does treatment take?
Because each patient is treated as an individual, each treatment is customized. We use the latest in orthodontic techniques to keep treatment time to a minimum. Typically, treatment spans over a period of 18 to 26 months.
Can you get braces at any age?
Regardless of your age, orthodontics is always a change for the better. Early warning signs of orthodontic problems in children include: crooked teeth, early/late loss of baby teeth, blocked-out teeth, or oral habits such as thumb sucking. Adults can achieve a beautiful smile while simultaneously improving the health of their teeth and gums, regardless of their age.
Do braces hurt?
Initially, you may experience some discomfort. After a week, your mouth becomes used to the braces. Your teeth may hurt for 2 to 3 days after your check-up every 4 to 6 weeks. You can still do everything with braces. You can speak, play a musical instrument, dine out, and even kiss.
What are the benefits of orthodontics?
The importance of a beautiful smile cannot be underestimated. Besides being a vital asset to one’s self-confidence, a beautiful smile can prove to be a healthier one. Untreated orthodontic problems may lead to tooth decay (cavities), gum disease and abnormal wear of your teeth. Because we all communicate and show our feelings with our mouth, it is the primary focus of our face.
